28/04/2022: Position name changed from Dean, Graduate Studies and Research Development (Dean, GS & RD) to Dean, Graduate Studies and Researcher Development (Dean, GS & RD) 7 February 2022 – System Administrator Fix – the title for the associated document “Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research” was updated to include the year 2018 as per the correct title for the Code. 10/5/2021 – System Administrator Fix – update the placeholders for Research and Higher Degrees Committee; Research Studies Committee; and Research Committee from the Division-based record to the Committee-based record. The Supervision of Research Candidates Procedures is a new document with procedural clauses taken from the revised Supervision of Research Candidates Policy. - Addition of a new clause (5)b: requiring Indigenous supervisor with workload to be included on the supervisory panel of Indigenous HDR candidates. - New clause (13)c: Participation in Indigenous cultural competency training and training focused on Indigenous Research Methodologies. - Addition of a new clause (16)e: ensuring the primary supervisors ensures candidates are familiar with the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research. Sub-Clauses l, m, and n requiring the primary supervisor to report foreign interference influences on international HDR candidates, and domestic HDR candidates conducting research overseas to the PVC Research. - Clause (21): industry supervisors do not need to be in the register. Clause (22) as part of the industry supervisor orientation they will be provided with the Research Code of Practice; relevant HDR policies, processes and procedures, Research Ethics Policy; and the relevant Degree Policy. - Clauses (23) to (25): new addition of the end user advisor. - Clauses (26) to (30): procedures removed from the previous version of the policy. - Addition of new Clause (32): introducing how issues of conflict and grievances between supervisors and candidates will be managed.
