Summary of Changes from Previous Version

The main changes to the policy include:
- clearer links between the production of multimedia and pedagogical practice
- inclusion of reference to immersive technologies including augmented and virtual reality
- inclusion of references to digital inclusion
- reference to the Learning Technologies Policy
- expansion to encompass all video produced for teaching and learning, beyond lecture capture and Western One Stop (WOS) recordings.

As recommended under the Policy Refresh Project, this policy document is to be published as procedures under the Head Policy - Teaching and Learning - Fundamental Code (to be renamed Teaching and Learning Policy in early 2024). The Vice Chancellor (VC) agreed and it was approved at Academic Senate [AS23/06:05 - 8 December 2023] for the approving authority to be changed from VC to Academic Senate as the procedures are mainly academic in nature and to align with the Head Policy.
