Section 1 - Purpose and Context

(1) The University's Act establishes the University as a corporate entity and prescribes the membership, powers and functions of its governing body, the Board of Trustees, as well as dealing with other statutory functions. The By-law is made under the Act and primarily deals with processes associated with the membership of the Board of Trustees and the making of rules.

(2) The Western Sydney University Act 1997 and the Western Sydney University By-law 2017 can be can accessed by the NSW Legislation site of the Parliamentary Counsel's Office.
