Environmental Management Plan

NOTE: The Environmental Management Plan is expired on publication of the revised Environmental Sustainability Policy approved and published on 4 November 2022.

Section 1 - Purpose and Context

(1) Western Sydney University's Environmental Management Plan (EMP) outlines the University's environmental direction. The EMP will assist the University to meet legislative requirements and also to demonstrate the organisations commitment to best practice environmental management and ecological sustainable development.

Section 2 - Definitions

(2) Definitions are provided in the Environmental Sustainability Policy, the Environmental Management Procedures, and the Environmental Management System Manual . For further advice, contact the University's Environmental Supervisor.

Section 4 - Procedures

(4) The University's Environmental Management Plan outlines the University's environmental management programs in the following areas and details objectives, actions, key performance indicators and specific responsibilities in relation each:

  1. Energy Conservation Program
  2. Water Conservation Management Program
  3. General Waste Minimisation and Recycling Program
  4. Hazardous Waste and Dangerous Goods Management Program
  5. Remnant Bushland and Biodiversity Management Program
  6. Promotion of Environmental and Sustainability Awareness Program
  7. Contractor and Lessee Environmental Impacts Program

Section 5 - Guidelines
