Summary of Changes from Previous Version
8 July 2016 - policy amended to reflect the official name change of the University concurrent with the change to the University's Act and By-Law.
10 February 2015 - Amended policy to reflect change of position title from 'Vice-Chancellor' to 'Vice-Chancellor and President'.
The main changes are:
Amendment of the Policy name from Equal Opportunity Policy to Equal Opportunity and Diversity Policy to better reflect the importance of and organisational commitment to diversity.
Section 1 Purpose and Context amended to clarify focus of policy as being on setting out the framework for implementation of equal opportunity and diversity at UWS
Section 2 Definitions now included in this one section
Section 3 Policy Statement amended to include the principles of equal opportunity that underpin all UWS operations
New Part A Outlining how UWS will promote equal opportunity
Deletion of Part B in old policy regarding the Social Justice Committee as this Committee no longer operates at UWS.
New Part C Lists the current legislation that underpins the policy
Part D Updates the reporting requirements
Part E Replaces the Former Part F. Gender Equality in the Worplace replaces Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace due to legislative changes.
