The Disability Policy has undergone a general update to ensure that the provisions reflect current University practice and comprehensively address our legal obligations to prevent disability discrimination. The updated policy now: - covers the University's new process for applying disability-related adjustments for students on placements, - includes students and staff with carer responsibilities, in line with the Carer Recognition Act (2010), - aligns with the University's new Workplace Flexibility Policy by matching the relevant definitions and examples of flexible working arrangements, - requires staff with disability requesting a workplace adjustment to provide documentation no more than six months old to help ensure the University is aware of the most current circumstances and recommended adjustments, - provides stricter privacy protections for student and staff's personal information, and - requires where there is a change in circumstances that the staff with an existing Reasonable Adjustment Plan and their supervisor contact the Equity & Diversity Unit to initiate a review of the Reasonable Adjustment Plan.
