Summary of Changes from Previous Version
In this version of the policy the following changes were made: Some minor changes have been made throughout the document for consistency. Clause 2e has added "This policy should be read in conjunction with the Copyright Policy." In Definitions 2f, "position description" has been added to "course of employment" In Definitions 2i, "award course" has been added to "Student" In Clause 26, wording has been added to strengthen protection of IP derived from student's works where the university has an obligation to do so, particularly to external parties. In Clause 33, "and Visiting Appointments" has been added. Clause 38 c is new, requiring more information from new employees on factors which might impede future IP developement. Clause 44: "recommendation" has been changed to "decision". Clause 50: added "and other relevant data management policies which may be developed from time to time, " Clause 54: clarification of appeals process. Clause 66b: now allows for collaborative research IP developed between units to be shared. 66bi now allows for inventors to receive discretionary distribution of funds.
