Summary of Changes from Previous Version

5/03/2024: System Administrator Fix – fixed hyperlinks to email addresses that were linking to URL’s instead of the email address.

18 December 2023 – System Administrator Fix – inserted hyperlink for the reference to the Responsible Conduct of Research Policy which was previously named Research Code of Practice as per the revised version published on 18 December 2023.

10 July 2020 – Globally replaced all references to the “Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, Engagement, Development and International” with the ‘Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, Enterprise and International”.

15 June 2020 – Updated references to the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Research and Graduate Studies with renamed position title Pro Vice-Chancellor, Research.

11 February 2020 – Global update to replace the unit title “Research Engagement, Development and Innovation (REDI)” to “Research Services”.

4 August 2017 – Policy amended to reflect the position and unit title change of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President, Research and Development to ‘Research, Engagement, Development and International ‘.

28 September 2016 - Clause 45 amended - Office of Legal Counsel changed to Office of General Counsel

8 July 2016 - policy amended to reflect the official name change of the University concurrent with the change to the University's Act and By-Law.

11 November 2015 - amended clause 51 and 52 - new policy title - Records and Archives Management Policy

10 February 2015 - Amended policy to reflect change of position title from "Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Development' to 'Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President, Research and Development' and change of position title from 'Vice-Chancellor' to 'Vice-Chancellor and President'.

10 September 2014 - Amended policy (clause 46) to delete the reference to the redundant position title PVC (Research) and replace with PVC (Research and Innovation).

22 August 2014 - Amended policy to delete references to the redundant position title DVC Research and replace with DVC Research and Development.

17 January 2014 - The preliminary review has been completed - a minor review of the policy is currently underway.

This policy has been updated to bring it in line with the restructure of UWS in 2011.
