Summary of Changes from Previous Version

The policy now stipulates that the Head of Program / Unit Coordinator stage of managing allegations of student academic misconduct must be dealt with more formally. The invitation to the student to attend the meeting with the Head of Program and Unit Coordinator must be sent by email, in accordance with a prescribed timeline - clause (30) refers. At the meeting, the policy now provides for the the student to have the right to be assisted by a fellow enrolled student, a member of staff or a member of a student association - clause (31) refers. The outcome of the meeting must be recorded, and communicated to the student. To cover the management of suspected academic misconduct involving students on UWS courses offered off-shore, where procedures will need to be varied, the policy now includes at clauses (18) to (23) requirements that these procedures be approved by the Academic Senate as part of the process of approving courses offered off-shore. For currently offered off-shore courses, these procedures must be defined now, and approved by the Academic Senate, by July 2007.
