Summary of Changes from Previous Version

The Board of Trustees approved the revised policy on 9 June 2021 [9/6/2021:11]

The policy was reviewed as part of the standard review schedule. The clauses were synthesised to avoid repetition and reordered to improve clarity and the substantive amendments are :

1) the inclusion of four new honorary titles and appointments: Doctor of Laws (honoris causa); Vice-Chancellor’s Professional Fellow; Centre for Western Sydney Community and Industry Associate; and Adjunct Associate Professor;

2) removal of the College of Adjuncts;

3) moving the specified periods to which honorary appointments may be made, to the policy from the procedures, as this is a condition of the appointment and not a procedural matter;

4) amendment of the Distinguished Professor entry to more accurately reflect the current arrangements for awarding the title of Distinguished Professor.
