Summary of Changes from Previous Version

The Sexual Offences Response Policy and Procedures has been developed to replace the current Sexual Offences (Staff Response) Procedures. The document review was conducted as part of the recommendations made by the Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) as a result of the Changing the Course national report on sexual assault and sexual harassment at Australian universities. The revised and renamed Policy contains substantial changes to the existing Procedures including clarifying the University position of zero tolerance, expansion of the definitions relevant to these matters, and more clarity and detailed requirements and procedures in the reporting of sexual offences, and support of those who report these offences.
