Summary of Changes from Previous Version

This Policy has been revised and submitted for approval under the Brief Channel Review process.

The Policy has been updated to accommodate some of the key points included within the National Higher Education Code for the Prevention and Response to Gender Based Violence Act (passed August 2025). Changes have also been made to respond to new Positive Duty requirements under the Sex Discrimination Act (1984).  A summary of key changes include:

- Updates to language and descriptions to encompass both sexual misconduct and all forms of gender based violence, and trauma informed approaches.
- Expanded content and guidance around expectations and responsibilities for Affiliated Accommodation Providers
- Explicit content on the University's positive duty commitments to take action to prevent sexual misconduct or gender based violence.
- Refreshed content on reporting and responding to incidents and available supports
- Expanded definition of interim measures and supports available to any affected person.
