Summary of Changes from Previous Version

7 July 2022 – System Administrator Fix – updated the placeholder for the glossary terms “hdr candidate” to “HDR Candidate” throughout the document.

The revised Policy includes edits to reflect: - recognition of research data as a valued output of research activity; - a more coordinated approach to research data management; - broadening of the policy statement to enhance access and reuse of data; - expanded detail on the requirements of a research data management plan; - inclusion of reference to defence-related projects; - inclusion of relevant reference to foreign arrangements; - additional detail in relevant clauses on: - - - Working Storage for research data; - - - access to research data including FAIR and CARE principles, and on Indigenous peoples and data; - - - open access to research data; - - - retention, archiving and disposal of research data; - - - use of ResearchDirect by research candidates; - detail of treatment of research data under Intellectual Property and Copyright policies; - updated references to associated information, legislation and University policies; - re-structuring of information in respective policy and procedure sections to align with the Policy Framework Policy; - development of established definitions to be approved and uploaded to the DDS Glossary. A number of definitions have also been removed from the body of the Policy and added to the Policy DDS Glossary, and linked throughout the document.
