Summary of Changes from Previous Version
This procedure and the ADP Policy replace the former Professional Development Program (PDP) for Academic Staff Policy. It has undergone a complete review and the procedures have separated into a separate document. Changes incorporated in this version relate to the call for applications and closing date; explication of activities that are excluded; clarification of employee eligibility; expansion of application requirements; exclusion of staff applying for or being granted any additional University funds without additonal approval; improving the assessment process by consolidating the the selection criteria into one list; strengthening the Dean's/Director's role in terms of supporting, recommending and ranking the applications based on the same selection criteria; elucidating the requirements that staff need to meet during and after an ADP; detailing the responsibilities of business units, Deans and Directors; requirement of assessment and publication of the ADP report; and establishment of a university-wide ADP Committee.
