Summary of Changes from Previous Version

At its 16 October 2020 meeting, Academic Senate approved the revised and retitled Progression Policy, previously titled Progression and Unsatisfactory Academic Progress Policy (resolution AS AS 20/05:05). The Progression Policy has been significantly re-written to include the impact of the new Student Management System (SMS), to remove the progression checks based on students passing 50% of their units and replace with checks based on a satisfactory Grade Point Average (GPA), and to simplify the structure of the document. The revised Progression Policy focusses on intervention and support; and incorporates a Show Cause period before any restrictions are applied.
