Summary of Changes from Previous Version

12 August 2021 – System Administrator Fix – Clause 5a. – updated the placeholder hyperlink for associated document ‘Model Code for the Protection of Freedom of Speech and Academic Freedom in Australian Higher Education Providers’ to link to the correct document.

28 January 2021 – removed the hyperlink to Student Code of Conduct in clause 6.

The Student Code of Conduct has been redrafted to align more closely with the revised staff Code of Conduct, so that it is also a values based document linking to the values in the University’s Strategic Plan. The revised Student Code of Conduct also makes particular reference to the values of Freedom of Speech and Academic Freedom, to ensure alignment with the French Model Code. As the new Delegations of Authority Policy stipulates that codes of conduct are specifically reserved to the Board, the Student Code of Conduct will now be a Board of Trustees Policy.
