Summary of Changes from Previous Version
The new University Seal and Authentication Rule introduces a number of key reforms, specifically:
1. the instrument is now a Rule made by the Board of Trustees under the Western Sydney University Act, rather than a Policy, to ensure statutory efficacy;
2. it provides for use of more than one version of the Seal (previously a physical embossed watermark);
3. the list of University officers authorised to affix the Seal has been updated to reflect changes in organisational structure and titles.
4. it removes references to the former title of “Registrar” which is no longer used;
5. the provisions relating to authentication have been expanded and clarified as this form of execution would likely be used more often due to COVID-19 restrictions;
6. the provisions relating to use of electronic signatures have been clarified.
