Summary of Changes from Previous Version

The substantially revised and renamed Professional Development in Learning and Teaching Policy is replacing the current Foundations of University Learning and Teaching (FULT) Program Policy.

The previous policy was due for review January 2015 and only covers the previous version of the FULT program, which new academic teaching staff are required to complete. However, significant changes in the University’s Strategic Plans and in its Professional Development offerings since 2012 have resulted in the need to update the policy relating to professional development in learning and teaching.

The revised and renamed Professional Development in Learning and Teaching Policy encompasses professional development for all staff involved in teaching work, from PhD students doing casual teaching through to the Professoriate. This includes not only continuing academic staff but also those on fixed-term and casual contracts and professional staff supporting teaching work; whether working part-time or full-time.
