Summary of Changes from Previous Version

During a review of the Examinations Policy in 2014 it was agreed that the procedures for Deferred Exams, currently published as part of the Special Consideration Policy, should be published as separate procedures linked to the Examinations Policy which contains the relevant policy provisions. Proposed Deferred Exam Procedures were discussed at the 16 February meeting of APAG, published on the Policy DDS Bulletin Board and sent to SACs for feedback. These were approved at the 21 April meeting of Academic Senate and are being published. These amendments to the Special Consideration Policy remove references to Deferred Exams, which are now covered by the new Deferred Exam Procedures. It should also be noted that at the beginning of 2014 a project to review the Special Consideration Policy also began and the replacement Disruption to Studies Policy and Disruption to Studies Procedures have recently been approved by Senate for publication and implementation later in 2017.
