Summary of Changes from Previous Version

The former Assessment and Examination Policy (which contained a section on special consideration) has been broken down into four separate policies. As a result the coverage in this document is now limited to information about special consideration for assessment task(s), teaching periods, or part of teaching periods, and special consideration for examinations, and the policy on deferred examinations. The policy has been revised to differentiate an application for an extension of the due date of an assessment task from a request for special consideration during the teaching session; remove the step requiring students to lodge their special consideration applications with the Student Centres during teaching session; and clarify processes to assist students who require special consideration for the whole unit or the whole teaching session.. The remaining information in the former Assessment and Examination Policy has been built into the most appropriate of the other three policies, being the Examinations Policy, the Assessment Policy, and the Review of Grade Policy.

16 March 2007 - Minor textual amendment to clause (2).

7 March 2008 - the policy has been amended to clarify the word "day" when used as a deadline or timelimit. Clauses Amended: 37a, 44, 67, 82.
