Summary of Changes from Previous Version

4 January 2012 - Minor amendments made to the document to reflect changes to position and unit titles and movement of responsibilities, as a result of the new leadership and management structure approved by the Board of Trustees and effective 1 January 2012. Clauses amended: 20-23, 28, 37



In this version of the policy, the following changes have been made:

Clause 18 (amended clause) gives Heads of School overall accountability for the preparation of examinations.

Clause 19 (new clause) provides that schools must have processes in place, endorsed by the School Academic Committee, including benchmarking, peer review, and moderation of answers, to assure the academic quality of examinations.

Clause 20 sets out for the first time the accountabilities of Unit Coordinators, Heads of Program/Course Advisors, and Associate Heads of School (Learning and Teaching), in relation to the preparation, marking and moderation of examinations.

Clause 23 recognises the role of the Associate Head of School (Learning and Teaching), or equivalent.

Clause 28 contains procedures formerly in clause 20 relating to the preparation of examination papers (now in Section 4 - Procedures).

Clause 28 e (new sub clause) provides that the University's Records Management Policy must be adhered to in relation to the retention and storage of examination papers.
