Summary of Changes from Previous Version
- The Policy would be amended to include a definition of reading time, stating that it might be utilised for reading and writing, but that students were able to begin writing their examination answers if they chose do so. This recognised the principle that it should be up to students, not staff, to decide for themselves their own strategies for answering the examination questions.
- In communicating the arrangements for reading time to the University community, it would be emphasised that as stated in the approved Policy, ten minutes reading time was included in the duration of the examination;
- All examination papers would contain a standard form of words describing the arrangements for reading time that would apply for all examinations, and supervisors would explain the arrangements in the venue, before examinations started.
