Summary of Changes from Previous Version

The Dual Award and Joint Research Higher Degrees Policy (previously titled Dual Award and Joint Higher Degrees Policy) has been revised and updated following benchmarking with the sector and with feedback from the Research Studies Committee (RSC) and Research Committee in 2021. Amendments include editorial changes, amendments and new clauses, including: - updates to align the policy with the processes and procedures outlined in the Foreign Arrangements Policy (currently under development); - inclusion of an Institutional Framework Agreement, which sets out the academic, resource and governance framework. - references to an Individual Candidate agreement, which sets out details of candidature rules and conditions, candidature responsibilities. Amendments to the procedures section of the policy provides more details in relation to: - the process for the development and approval of the agreement; - admissions and withdrawal; - examination that can be either combined between institutions, or one thesis for examination but following set specific procedures for dual award and joint degrees.
