Summary of Changes from Previous Version

- The clauses covering the maximum credit points a student may take in a teaching period, which at present, do not adequately cover the situation of students taking units in overlapping sessions - eg summer session, or quarter session, which overlaps with H1 (first half of the teaching year) session - clauses 68-71;

- Amendments to clauses covering the addition of units by students, to reflect that students may add additional units on-line through MySR -clauses 51-54.

- Amendments to the clauses on the load for visa-holding students, to reflect the ESOS National Code -clauses 95-97;

- Clarification of the clause on students repeating units already passed, to stipulate that if they do so, there is a requirement that they must enrol as a non-award student and pay full fees - clause 101.

- Addition of a clause restricting the circumstances in which taught postgraduate coursework may enrol in undergraduate units (a similar clause already exists for undergraduates wishing to enrol in taught postgraduate coursework units.) -clauses 62-63.

- Changes to the clauses covering the withdrawal without academic penalty (W grade) to be compliant with legislation. The proposed change allows a student to apply for withdrawal without academic penalty from a unit even thought they have completed all the assessment tasks - this is currently not permitted.

- Major changes to the Fees section, to delete all the clauses that specifically talk about grand parenting arrangements, replacing them with one generic clause that states that if students are eligible for grand parenting arrangements, then the University will arrange for this to happen (clause 122). Some other re-arrangement of the clauses in the Fees section, in an attempt to have the fees clauses read in a more logical manner.

- Inclusion of some extra definitions in the "Definitions" section.

- Change to the leave of absence clauses, so that they include international students (deleted clause 106 of current policy, added in new clause 107).

- Changed section on pre and co-requisite units, and amended section on rule waivers to better reflect current practice (clauses 64 - 67). The effect is to change the delegation to approve a change to the course structure for a student to the Associate Dean level, rather than have the approval rest at the Head of Program level.

- Within the guidelines section, the addition of the DEEWER guidelines for extenuating circumstances for remission of debt.

- Some minor changes - to remove obsolete processes, changes to the names of Government departments, allowing on-line submissions up to midnight etc as students use MySR and e-forms etc.
