Summary of Changes from Previous Version

These amendments, approved at the 20 October 2017 Academic Senate [ AS 17:05/09] adjust the last date available to students to withdraw without academic penalty, but with financial liability, from the relevant census date to three weeks after census date. Up to the date three weeks after the relevant census date, students who withdraw from units will receive a 'W' (Withdrawn) grade. After this date, students who withdraw from units will receive an “E” (Fail/Discontinued Grade). This will align the unit withdrawal practices at Western Sydney University with most other comparable institutions. The implementation of these changes was delayed awaiting system upgrades to enable the change in practice. The amendments reflect from the time of publication and are not retrospective.
