The policy has been amended to clarify the University's commitments in the policy statement (clause 9), restructure the document so the procedures and responsibilities are clear (Sections 3 and 4), introduce some new requirements in relation to the consumption of alcohol (clause 16d and e), indicate positions for which the University may limit the consumption of alcohol whilst on duty and include such conditions in relevant position descriptions (clause 18), provide additional activities in relation to which staff, students and visitors cannot consume alcohol (clause 19b and d), clarify that, along with other senior staff, a Vice-President can make a temporary determination of an alcohol free zone (clause 21), amend the description of when alcohol is taken to be part of a sale (clause 29), and make it clear the University may take civil action to recover any damages to University property caused by a breach of the policy (clause 56).
