The policy strengthens the University's position that the offer and acceptance of gifts/benefits may knowingly or not influence decision making processes and therefore the integrity of the organisation. Further, this version clarifies the University's position in declining/accepting the offer of gifts and/or benefits, and it now incorporates the University's position on gifts/prizes received at conferences and the like, and gifts of hospitality. Also it clarifies the difference between token and official gifts and how to manage them, and it provides advice on the disposal of gifts.
