Summary of Changes from Previous Version

22 February 2022 - Updated all references and links to the repealed ‘Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2015’ with the ‘Higher Education Standards   Framework (Thresholds Standards) 2021’.


6 May 2021 – System Administrator Fix – update the placeholders for Academic Senate and Board of Trustees from the Division-based record to the Committee-based record.


30 April 2021 – System Administrator Fix – Update the placeholder for the Executive Committee from the redundant Divisions-based record to the  Committee/Group based record.


The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the need for these changes to this policy. At its 8 April 2020 meeting the Board of Trustees approved changes to the Delegations of Authority Policy and Schedule HH that permits the changes to this policy. The inclusion of the new Part J enables the Vice-Chancellor to temporarily suspend or change Vice-Chancellor approved policies and processes without the need to go through the approval pathway processes described in Parts, A, B, D, E and H. Clause (51) sets out a series of conditions that must be met in order for the Vice-Chancellor to do so. Part J confers similar authority on the Chair of Academic Senate in respect to policies and processes approved by Academic Senate.
